Marriage at St Mary’s Barwell
Marriage must be accepted as being a lifetime
commitment. Although it is also recognised that unfortunately things
happen that are unforeseen. Nevertheless marriage must be accepted as
being for life.
A Church wedding is stating that the couple want God to be a part
of their relationship and that they want his blessing on their
commitment one to the other. Everyone living in the parish has a right
to be married in their parish church. However, after divorce this right
is not automatic, but neither is it impossible. If it is thought that
marriage after divorce is right then the procedure proceeds as with any
other wedding. If it is thought that a wedding is not possible, then a
service of dedication and blessing after a civil marriage might be a
suitable alternative.
